What is Lye? and why is the soap lye free?Lye, also known as sodium hydroxide, is traditionally used in the soap making process. However, we have developed a unique method that eliminates the need for lye while still producing high quality soap. This allows us to create a natural soap without the use of lye. Why don't we use lye in our soap? Lye, is a strong alkaline substance that, when used improperly, can be harmful or irritating to the skin and eyes. In soap making, lye is used to trigger the saponification process, which turns oils into soap. However, if the soap is not made correctly and the lye is not fully saponified, it can remain in the final product and potentially cause skin irritation or burns. Additionally, the production and disposal of lye can have environmental implications. For these reasons we choose to avoid using lye in our products.

Can I use your soap products on my pets?Yes, our soap products works well on pets, but we strongly recommend using our pet shampoo bars. Our pet bars have jojoba oil and neem added which is specifically formulated for use on pets and are generally safe for them. Jojoba oil is known for its moisturizing properties, while NEEM has natural antibacterial and antifungal properties that can help with common skin issues in pets. However, it's important to note that individual pets may have sensitivities or allergies to certain ingredients. It's always a good idea to perform a patch test on a small area of your pet's skin before using any new product extensively. If you have any concerns or questions, we recommend consulting with a veterinarian for personalized advice.
